Paul and I have started a new session of our Parent workshops. Our first week's theme is "Collaboration". We watched a video; "Howard Rheingold: Way-new collaboration". Using gmail, we all posted on one shared doc for our first week's assignment: find more resources (books, articles, websites, podcasts or videos) related to the concept of "collaboration".
These parents experienced using a "shared doc" - one document with several editors in real time. Paul and I talked about the ways teachers and students collaborate on shared docs. And we explored "insert comments" and "see revision history" to check who, and when information was added to the document.
